Stuck Cafeteria

Stuck Cafeteria is both a site in the school and a learning principle : It is built on the Swedish traditional cultural innovation called FIKA, a tradition, where you have coffee and cinnamon buns with colleagues or friends twice a day. It's an essential part of work and school life, and in work places.

KEC took the FIKA and developed it a notch further.

KEC’s pedagogy is based on break-centered learning, meaning that the most important thing a teacher needs to plan are the breaks, how frequent, how long, and when they are placed. In terms of the teaching itself the point of it is to get people stuck and then take a short or long break, giving the break a specific function. The timing and the duration of the break is something that is continuously experimented with and developed at KEC. The aim is to create breaks, in which students can subconsciously solve problems letting the problem incubate during the break.
